UConn is an active partner on several Erasmus+ KA 171 student and faculty mobility projects. These projects strengthen our relationships with our European partners and enhance the intercultural dimensions of our teaching, research and learning.
UConn students and faculty should use these application forms to be considered for an Erasmus+ KA171 student or faculty mobility opportunity.
Current Opportunities
Politecnico di Milano (Polimi) – until July 31, 2026
- Graduate student research in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies at the Politecnico di Milano (Polimi) in Milan, Italy. We are currently accepting applications from UConn graduate students to conduct research at Polimi for stays of up to 5 months, beginning in February 2026. Students will receive funding to offset travel and monthly living expenses.
- Timeline: Students interested to visit Polimi for Spring 2026 must complete the application form by September 22, 2025.

- Faculty teaching in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies at the Politecnico di Milano (Polimi) in Milan, Italy. UConn faculty may submit interest to visit Polimi for a one week teaching stay at the Politecnico di Milano (Polimi) in Milan, Italy. The faculty will engage in 8 hours of teaching activities over 5 days at Polimi. The opportunity provides funding support of €160/day (app. $178) to offset living expenses and €820 (app. $900) to offset airfare.

Lithuania University of Health Sciences (LSMU) – until July 31, 2027
Faculty teaching or training program at Lithuania University of Health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania. UConn staff/faculty, including postdocs, may submit interest to visit LSMU for a one-week teaching or training opportunity related to a project on health sciences. Preference for the award will go to faculty from the UConn Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, or Pharmaceutical Sciences who will engage in a reciprocal visit with an LSMU faculty member which involves hosting them for one week at UConn.
Preference for the grant will go to someone who undertakes a teaching mobility program, which involves 8 hours of teaching activity during the visit to LSMU.
The mobility grant provides funding support for 7 days - 5 days of academic activities, and 2 days of travel. This includes a subsistence grant of €1,036, (€148/day) and up to €1188 travel grant.
- Timeline: Global Affairs will accept applications of interest on an on-going basis. The program must be completed by July 31, 2027.

Students who are interested to participate in an Erasmus+ student mobility project should complete this form by September 1 (for spring semester programs) or February 1 (for fall semester programs). Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview.

Past Projects
University College Dublin (UCD) – July 31, 2025
Faculty teaching or training program at University College Dublin (UCD) in Dublin, Ireland. UConn staff/faculty, including postdocs, may submit interest to visit University College Dublin for a one-week teaching or training opportunity related to a project on Digital Early Modern Ireland.
The selected individuals will be involved in designing their own program of activity for the week, with input from project leads Professor Brendan Kane (UConn) and Professor Marc Caball (UCD). If undertaking a teaching mobility, they will be required to undertake 8 hours of teaching activity during the week. If undertaking a training mobility, they will undertake a week of training activities. The opportunity is suitable for those whose teaching or research interests focus on or include ethnicity, colonialism, globalization, religion and conflict, languages and cultures, Early Modern Irish or human rights.
The opportunity provides funding support of €1,260 (app. $1400) to cover living expenses over five days of activity and two travel days, and €820 (app. $900) to cover airfare.
